Technology is amazing. Our phones are capable of making our life much more convenient in many ways such as tracking our steps, or giving us access to our homes. But it is arguable that the phones actually do more harm than good in terms of our peace. Shalom -> The absense of conflict but also a sense of rest and satisfaction.

As Christians, we all are constantly in seek of peace and refuge. And a big component of church is actually as a place of peace. But it’s important that we allow God to use us to build a church of peace instead of looking to consume a church of peace. We are responsible.

Peace is Shared #

One person cannot bear the weight of providing peace to the entire congregation. In the verse, we see that the power is not just given to strictly Moses. It’s a shared responsibility to a bunch of different people. There is no such thing as a single “savior” within a church body. It’s actually when the entire body of the church steps up and uses their unique strengths and talents to uplift the entire congregation. Imagine a church that is wholly dependent on the head pastor within a strict hierarchical system. For one, there’s a lot of pressure on this single individual. But also if they make a grand mistake such as financial, sexual, or whatever, the entire church hurts because they are so dependent on this single person.
